This is the new flagship program replacing the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+), launched in January 2025. Ontario residents can claim an instant $75 rebate on qualifying smart thermostats including Google Nest, ecobee, Honeywell, and other approved models. Smart thermostats automatically adjust heating and cooling to lower energy costs, and some integrate with demand-response programs for additional credits. Peak Perks is a demand-response program where customers agree to let their smart thermostat adjust slightly during summer peak hours to reduce grid strain. Participants receive a $75 enrollment incentive plus ongoing annual bill credits for their participation. This program is a perfect add-on for households already upgrading with Sipco-installed smart thermostats, providing additional savings beyond the initial rebate.

The Home Winterproofing Program is an income-qualified program that provides free home efficiency upgrades such as insulation, draft-proofing, and smart thermostats to lower-income households. Eligibility is based on household income and utility account type, making energy efficiency improvements accessible to families who need them most.
